Kumkum Amin
Kumkum Amin is Associate Director of John Snow Inc., (JSI) based in Boston. She supports projects in Ethiopia, Liberia, Myanmar, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. She also is the capacity building advisor on an OVC project in Zimbabwe and is the Director of JSI/World Education’s Capacity Building Center, a virtual center responsible for consolidating the organizations’ vast experience in capacity building and utilizing it to support projects and the proposal process. Kumkum has extensive experience in senior-level management and consulting in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. She has held field assignments in Uganda and in the West Bank and Gaza, where she worked with two of the largest Palestinian health NGOs to strengthen communities and their linkages with health facilities to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
She has held teaching positions in the schools of public health at Harvard University and Boston University and has taught marketing research to Masters level students at Suffolk University School of Management in Boston. Prior to JSI, Kumkum was a consultant at Bain and Company, a strategy consulting firm.
