Children First

Children First

Children First reached more than 90,000 children annually with comprehensive services.

The Children First program, supported by the United States Agency for International Development, aimed to mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS in Zimbabwe. Bantwana led the program to develop, test, and strengthen promising models of community-based care for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).  Bantwana worked with national and community-based organizations already providing support to OVC to help local partners significantly expand their reach and improve the quality of comprehensive care for OVC and families.  Children First operated in Matabeleland South and Harare’s urban, peri-urban, and surrounding rural areas.
