Protect Our Youth Curriculum

Protect Our Youth Curriculum

The Protect Our Youth curriculum was developed through the DREAMS Innovation Challenge in Eswatini with direct input from secondary school girls through protective asset mapping exercises where they identified the topical areas important to them and the areas in which they needed more information and support. The DREAMS IC program seeks to address youth reproductive health issues including HIV in schools, particularly girls in molding their behaviors to abstain, delay sexual experiences and withstand pressure to engage in early sexual debut in Swaziland. This curriculum was designed for Protect our Youth (POY) clubs for secondary school students to build social assets, offer life-skills and ASRH and address gender norms and power relationships that contribute to unwanted pregnancy and early marriage.
