Executive Director Bantwana Zimbabwe

Mbonisi Tshuma has more than 14 years’ experience managing and delivering programs to enhance the well-being of youth, vulnerable children, and marginalized families in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa. As the Executive Director of Bantwana Zimbabwe, he oversees a regional portfolio that includes the CDC/PEPFAR funded DREAMS program, the UNICEF Spotlight Initiative and Humanitarian Program Fund, as well as World Bank-funded programming to keep girls in school in Zambia. Before assuming the role of Executive Director, he served as a Regional Technical Advisor for Bantwana, primarily providing technical assistance in Economic Strengthening. Prior to this, he was the WEI/Bantwana Country Director and Team Lead for School-Related Gender Based Violence in Malawi where he established organizational presence and managed all aspects of implementation. As Technical Specialist for Youth and Livelihoods under the USG-funded Children First and Vana Bantwana OVC projects, Mr. Tshuma built the capacity of over 20 implementing partners, and laid the groundwork for the Siyakha Girls economic strengthening model endorsed by PEPFAR Technical Guidance for all DREAMS countries.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration from Marymount California University and a BSc. in Health Education and Promotion from the University of Zimbabwe.
