Through a one year sub-contract from RTI International’s USAID/Uganda-funded Literacy Achievement and Retention Activity (LARA), we helped LARA sub-grantees develop local structures for reporting cases of violence against children in schools and refer cases to support services in the community.

We developed a School Community Case Management (SCCM) curriculum for use in 13 districts in Uganda. Based on early successes with this approach in Hoima District, we conducted a case study on the effectiveness of case management practices, including Village Case Care Management Committees, to prevent and respond to school-related gender-based violence.
