Lilian BadiCountry Director Tanzania
Lilian Badi is the Country Director for our work in Tanzania and the lead for the USAID funded Waache Wasome/Let Them Learn project focused in the Northern Zone of Tanzania. Lilian is a Tanzanian national and brings more than a decade of experience in senior management on PEPFAR, Global Fund, and USAID-funded programs concerned with community-based support for vulnerable children, including our project, Pumoja Tuwalee. Ms. Badi, holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the Open University of Tanzania – Dar es Salaam, and a Masters of Science degree in Finance from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland. Ms. Badi also has extensive experience working in partnership with faith-based organizations serving vulnerable children and families.
Prior to joining our team, Lilian served as the Finance and Grants Management Director for Pact International, where she oversaw finance and grants management teams supporting MVC programs including the Jali Watoto Initiative and Strengthening Transparency, Accountability, and Responsibility (STAR), and successfully managed partnerships with Family Health International (FHI), CAMFED, International Centre for Research and Women (ICRW), and the Futures Group.
